I really enjoy the size and weight of this piece, it's huge and looks amazing! The build quality is great and can handle the wear and tear you'll place upon it. Fit and finish are great as well and the watch never feels too heavy.
Now to the issues. This watch is highly overpriced. The watch runs with cheap quartz movements. The main second hand ticks around the face as does the chronograph hand when engaged instead of a smooth sweep. There is no excuse for a watch of this price to use such cheap movements. For this price ( I paid 420) this watch should easily be fitted with quartz movements capable of sweep seconds and chronograph functions if not a fully automatic watch. I own a Guess chronograph that utilizes quartz movements that feature sweep seconds and chronograph and paid a fourth of what my Nixon cost. There really is no excuse for such a high price for the Nixon 31-50 chrono. It's not made of precious metal, it's stainless steel. It has cheap movements on par with watches costing less than 100 dollars.
Stay clear of this watch unless you don't expect your watch to perform well, don't mind dropping up to 500 bucks on a watch worth about 65, or simply are buying for the look. Not worth the price. Nixon you should be ashamed to be asking so much money for a hunk of metal that merely tells the time.
