(More customer reviews)Not much I can say except this watch is awesome. I've seen many other models of SUUNTO watches and always wanted one but didn't want to pay the money. Now that I got one...well worth it. The heart rate feature is really nice b/c now I have a watch, altimeter, barometer, compass,...all for everyday use and for use when I camp or hike...and I can monitor my heart rate when I'm doing circuit training or just running. To me it's def a great all around watch. A lot of people say they're too hard to learn b/c of all the features but I didn't see any problems. After playing around with it for about an hour or so I had all the functions down. I will also say that I hardly wear watches b/c of "comfort" issues and this is the most comfortable watch I've ever worn. The band feels really nice andthe watch is really light compared to it's size.

(More customer reviews)I ordered this watch thinking it measured pulse rate, in other words that it is it is a HRM (heart rate monitor). It certainly is not. In order to get heart rate you must count pulses yourself and divide with the built-in calculator. In other words it is a calculator watch not a HRM. I'm sure the other functions are fine and it is a good looking watch, but totally useless as a HRM during exercise.
As a result, I returned this watch and ordered another version from Timex that is a true HRM. It works as advertised!

The feature of this watch that really benefits me are the three alarms, each of which is independently programmable for a specific day, or for weekdays or weekends only. When you have kids with sports practice, music lessons, etc. these alarms serve as a handy reminder. I have had no problems with the craftsmanship of this product, and have worn it while swimming, landscaping my yard, and working out. So far, it's taken a licking and is still ticking! I'm considering buying another one of these for when I can't find the one I already have (the baby likes it, too!).

Timex Men's T5H091 1440 Sports Digital Watch Review

(More customer reviews)There's a Brit saying: "Pay a cheap price, buy twice". Basically false economy rears it's ugly head - for example: you buy a cheap watch to try and save money only to find the watch broke after a short while and you having to buy ANOTHER watch to replace it.
This isn't the case with this watch. I opted for a sports watch because I was fed up to the bleedin' eyeballs with having chain link watches breaking all the time on me (and not all of them were that cheap either.) I also wanted a watch to go jogging with as well, so I opted for this beauty because of its price and its countdown timer.
I was not disappointed, it is a lot smaller than I thought it will be, which is a bonus as it is disheartneing to go jogging with what feels like a leadbrick swinging from your arm, but it still feels solid and compact all the time - what I am trying to say is that this Timex doesn't 'feel' cheap.
I wasn't expecting much with the watch but I am very please with it. I initially bought it as a cheap knockaround watch but I wear it all the time now!
The options are also fairly easy to use, stopwatch, countdown (upto an hour I think), alarm, etc. The illumination is also very good when in dark places.
I have had the watch one month so I cannot guarantee it will last a long time but so far I have no problems with it at all. Well worth the price though, and wouldn't swap this watch for most of the more expensive watches I have had.
There are cheaper watches out there, but for the extra pennies (or cents) it is worth getting this.

I thought it would read my heart rate real time, but instead I must click a few buttons, count my heart rate for ten seconds, then press stop. This is not what I was hoping for. I want to be able to look down and see my heart rate at any moment during my workout.

It's easy enough to set up and operate, and I like how all the buttons are on the top and easy to press when you're working out. One thing I don't like about it is the size of it, and even though it's that big, the red display is small and kind of hard to see, especially indoors. Someone has mentioned that the display also scratches easily, and mine already has a few, although it's new. I hope that this doesn't become a problem later.

(More customer reviews)I have had the GW7900B for a year and a few months now, and I am very happy with it. The watch is all black, and the digital face is inverted so that it is black with light gray for the numbers. That means the watch is pretty much all black, which is a very nice look. The inverted digital face does make it a little tough to read in low light situations, but the G button just below the watch face lights up the time, date and other information with the same kind of indiglo effect that I have had for years with Timex Ironman watches. The lighting effect makes this watch easy to read at any time. You also have the option to have the lighting effect happen with the turn of you wrist so you can see the watch information without having to push a button. This is a large watch. The body of the watch is almost 3/4 of an inch thick, which is the thickest watch I have come across. While it is a large watch, it is very light, because most of the body is plastic. The face of the watch is scratch resistant, and it is recessed into the watch about a quarter of an inch, so it is well protected.
The watch is loaded with features. 1) The time is set every night through radio signals from an atomic clock. Every night at a few minutes after midnight the watch will try to update the time from the atomic clock. If it is unable to update the time, then it will try again every hour through the night until it gets an update. This makes the watch very accurate. It has been off by less than half a second from any of my other atomic clocks or the atomic time that you can get over the internet. This will be the most precise watch you will probably ever own. 2) The battery on the watch is recharged by solar panels in the watch face. The fully charged battery is supposed to be able to last about nine months without a recharge, but the solar panel in the watch face picks up a charge in direct or indirect sunlight keeping the watch battery topped of unless you hide in a dark room all day. When I first received the watch the battery indicator showed the battery was a little low. I put the watch in indirect sunlight by setting it on a table by a window that the sun does not shine through. About 3 hours later I checked on the watch, and the battery was fully charged. Since then the battery has remained fully charged with just the partial sunlight the watch gets from me commuting to work. So I don't expect any battery problems. A cool feature for those of you who may not use the watch for a while, it turns off late at night and will not turn back on until you pick it up. So the battery does not drain much if you do not use the watch. 3) I travel across the country for work, and the watch is very easy to reset to other time zones. It also has a world time feature that lets you check the time in every time zone around the world just by clicking through the different zones. 4) Like just about every digital watch this one also has a stop watch. The stop watch capabilities are not as thorough as sports watches. For example, you can get a split time, but you wouldn't be able to take several split times like you could with a Timex Ironman watch. 5) The watch has a countdown timer so you can let yourself know when you need to stop what you are doing and move on to the next thing. 6) There is an alarm function that allows you to set four alarms and one alarm with a snooze feature. 7) The watch shows the phase of the moon and where tide is. 8) The watch is water resistant to 20 bar, which converts to something like 170 meters. So you can pretty much wear the watch in most underwater conditions you will find yourself.
So to wrap things up, this is turning out to be a great watch for me. It is super accurate, does not look like it will ever need a battery change, and looks really nice. I recommend it, and I would buy it again.

The HRM worked well, and the lap feature is easy to use.
I much prefer this to the Surge model (see my other review) I wore it for the Boston Marathon and was very pleased. If there is anything negative to say it would be that Soleus requires you to return the watch to them for battery replacement in order to maintain the warranty.

For example, after thirty minutes, the watch no longer records seconds, only minutes. This unfortunately makes this watch futile unless you are a beginner and are not too concerned with precision. I wouldn't recommend this watch for a serious or experienced runner. ( I am a sprinter that has taken up cross country thus i found this watch served its purpose considering I was running cross country to improve in sprinting events). Another major drawback is the lack of directions with the watch. I mean I understand the watch is only twenty bucks but can I get some fricking directions????!!!

Polar RS300XG1 GPS Heart Rate Digital Monitor Review

(More customer reviews)Overall I have been quite happy with my RS300G1. The accuracy is superb when compared to medical equipment, the recording options are excellent and useful, and it has been fairly easy to learn to use. The GPS has been accurate and helpful, especially for use in canoes (I paddle a lot, and the GPS feature was my main reason for choosing this model). I have also had very good battery life from the GPS receiver. I have been using the watch and chest strap while swimming which has worked pretty well.
The negatives ? I have large wrists and I wish the strap were longer. There are many times where I would like to wear the watch on the outside of garments or a dry top, and it is not possible for me to do this. I also do not like that the watch strap is not replaceable. I have serious doubts that the strap will out live the watch. Functionally my only gripe is that you cannot view the current time while in any recording mode. I see this as a pretty major flaw. I occasionally lose the signal between the chest strap and the watch while swimming, but it doesn't happen very often.
